eSIMとは？ What is an eSIM?
eSIMはデジタル版のSIMカードです。従来のSIMカードと異なり、端末側の操作によってオンオフを切り替えることができます。以下の3点を満たしている端末で使用することができます。
An eSIM is a digital version of a SIM card. Unlike traditional SIM cards, it can be enabled or disabled via device settings. It can be used on devices that meet the following three criteria:
- eSIMに対応する端末である
It is a device that supports eSIM. - 契約によってSIMロックされていない
Not SIM-locked by the contract. - 改造等が行われていない（ジェイルブレイクまたはルート化）
Has not undergone modifications (such as jailbreaking or rooting)

海外渡航者
滞在する国と期間・通信量を選択してeSIMの購入手続きを行ってください。1日に数回SNSや地図検索を行う軽い操作であれば数GB程度あれば十分ですが、もし動画視聴やチャットツールによる通話機能も申し分なく使いたいという場合はさらに多くの通信量を選択するのも良いかもしれません。なお、不足してから追加購入することも可能です。
メール記載のURLより「インストール」を押すと自動的に初期設定が実施されます。ただし、自動的に設定が行われなかった場合には以下の手順で手動設定を行ってください。
設定→モバイル通信→eSIMを追加→QRコードをスキャンと進み、以降は手順に沿って最後まで手続きを完了させます。カメラが使用できない場合は、設定情報を手入力することができます。
既存のeSIMは削除しないでください。ご契約の通信会社によっては有料での再発行が必要となり、再発行まで通信ができなくなる場合があります。
ネットワーク設定は必要な方のみ実施してください。基本的には初期設定を行うと自動的に完了するようになっていますが、端末や契約によってはネットワーク設定を完了しないと『アンテナは立つのに通信できない』ということがあります。
- APN設定：通信に必要な契約情報を伝える設定
- データローミング設定：海外でのデータ通信を許可する設定

Foreign visitors to Japan
Please select the duration and data allowance, then proceed with the eSIM purchase. A data allowance of a few gigabytes is sufficient for light usage, such as checking social media or looking up maps a few times a day; however, if you wish to stream videos or use chat apps for voice calls without restriction, you might want to choose a larger data plan. Please note that you can also purchase additional data later if you run out.
Clicking “Install” via the URL in the email will automatically perform the initial setup. However, if the setup does not occur automatically, please configure the settings manually by following the steps below.
Setting→Cellular/Mobile data→Add eSIM→Scan the QR codeProceed as described above, and from there, follow the instructions to complete the procedure to the end. If the camera cannot be used, enter the configuration information manually.
Please do not delete your existing eSIM. Depending on your carrier, a fee may be required for re-issuance, and you may be unable to use mobile data services until it is re-issued.
Please configure the network settings only if necessary. While the process generally completes automatically after the initial setup, depending on the device or service contract, you may need to manually configure the network settings to avoid issues where the signal bars appear but data communication does not work.
- APN settings: Settings that convey the contract information required for data communication.
- Data roaming setting: A setting that allows data communication while abroad.
